I want to talk to the judge about my case, but I cannot get through to his chambers. I have tried to send a letter, too.
Answer
Communicating with the court without including the other side can be considered an ex parte communication, defined in the Court Help Glossary as "A motion or statement made to the court by one party without notice to the other side." Judges cannot speak to only one party; both parties must be present on the call. All parties should receive copies of all communications.to the court.
Judicial Conduct Rule 100.3(B) (6) provides guidance on ex parte communications.
